I mentioned you recently when I was talking to a good friend on the phone. He has been living in your part of the world on Vancouver Island. It has been a very long time since we last met up, so it was great having a chat.
Aaah Yes Vancouver Island my old home, spent most of my life there. 🙂 Now I’m a mainlander, still haven’t decided how I feel about that. The island, and the ocean, have a way of embedding themselves into your blood, soul. Once you’ve fallen in love with them they are with you forever.
@”I am a Scottish Islander.” – I love Scotland… btw, you may know the cute joke about the Scots, the Irish and the French: why have they liked each other and have gotten along for centuries?… – because they all have the same “enemies”: the Brits!!! 🙂
Sometimes you find your best friend is your true love – just not necessarily the romantic kind in which you were seeking.

I can relate to that. I am a Scottish Islander. It is not just about where I come from; it is an integral part of my identity.
