Those words came into my mind when something occurred recently that rekindled suppressed feelings I thought would not be triggered again.
A few days ago a close friend died, although I am sad about that just now, the sadness will diminish with the grieving process. The suppressed feelings situation is something entirely different and more difficult to resolve.
I’m blown away by your poem, very few poets can write with the amount of wisdom and depth your poem expresses.
It’s therapeutic too, because you express the feeling of emotional pain in so few words without excessive verbiage that many often use to talk about emotional pain in poems.
So your poem goes strait to the issue in a tactile way, brilliant job! Well penned, indeed.
Sometimes, the difference between a poem and a statement, can be as simple as the arrangement of the wording (but I think in this instance, it’s a poem either way).
If hurt was water, I would have drowned A long time ago.
So sad 😦
