The shadow of the crow glides over the loch,
Salmon propel themselves rapidly upstream.
The blackcock are burbling on the breeding ground
And small groups of roe deer can be seen.
The dawn’s sunlight spreads into corners,
Lighting up the darkness of the land
And casting rays upon the malevolence,
That seeps into the minds of man.
The doors of springtime are opening, and lambs
Run to the meadow, not to the slaughter.
Recovery blooms where the earth was
Devastated, and tainted with human destruction.
The water that flows from the mountain spring
Has a purity that is untouched by corporate greed.
It is there to replenish all of nature’s creatures,
No matter the colour whatever the creed.
Those who walk on the pathways of altruism
Are honourable and they stand apart,
The flowers that line either side of those paths,
Grow from seeds that come from the heart.
Magnificent poem.
