People struggling to survive are
met with ice cold hearts and racism
that has been stoked by fiery propaganda.

Leaving home because you have to, is bad enough, leaving your home because you have become a refugee is a lot worse. Risking your life and your children’s lives to reach a safe haven to start a new life is a gamble with very unfavourable odds.

It doesn’t matter how much I try to imagine what being a refugee is like, because without experiencing it, I know it can only be a lot worse than whatever I imagine.

I have no tolerance for the “but we already have enough, they were safe in another country, or why should we take them?” people. Their views are based on ignorance, selfishness and blind racism.

There is room at the inn.
