Feeling depressed is nothing like having depression.

Everyone can experience “feeling depressed”. Having clinical depression can be more disabling than having broken bones. Depression is not just feeling sad or being on a downer, it can be a very serious mental health problem. It is often accompanied by symptoms of anxiety.

There are many common misconceptions about depression, and unless you have experienced it, you do not actually know how it feels.

    Always love when someone chalked it up to simply being sad.

    Man, I tell ya, if it were only that simple. I’d take sadness over despair, bummed over hopelessness, a passing phase over a final option.

      A friend who had depression, said to me that his girlfriend told him to “shake yourself out of it”.
