This is a picture of Mariam as she prepares to visit her mother, Fadwa Hamada, who has been detained for more than 4 years in the occupation prisons, and is sentenced to 10 years.
Mariam was only a few months old when her mother was arrested by the Israeli forces. Instinctively, I find the picture of Mariam painful to look at. I am not anti-Semitic; I am against any state that oppresses another state. I am against any individual who oppresses anyone in any way.
I used the word instinctively, because it is natural for me to feel protective towards the young of any species. Children are being arrested and brutalised in Palestine. It is state-sponsored child abuse. I don’t give a flying fig-leaf if they threw a stone at an armoured car or a soldier, there is nothing anyone can say to me that justifies the oppression and cruelty to anyone, in any state, or any country.
Respect to this statement and I couldn’t agree more! The face of this little girl actually says it all…What’s happening is awful and nothing on earth justifies this

My husband lived in the Middle East and has taught me about the abuse you write about. It is good of you to post this.

Thank you very much. The “information” that the MSM spouts about what is happening in Middle East countries, is far from reality.
