A man was arrested in Manchester, England for “displaying the Palestinian flag“. It was folded around his neck. This follows a letter sent out to the Chief Constables of England and Wales, from the Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, stating, among other points, that:
It is a criminal offence for a person in the UK to:
- wear clothing or carry articles in public which arouse reasonable suspicion that an individual is a member or supporter of Hamas or
- publish an image of an article such as a flag or logo in the same circumstances
The flag of Palestine is not the flag of Hamas.
I support the people of Palestine unequivocally!
