I have posted the song “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, on here before, it is a song that demonstrates the importance of unity, and helping each other through difficult times.
When I heard it a couple of days ago, I thought about people on their own who are struggling with loneliness. Loneliness can be very debilitating for a lot people, especially older people, but it can be just as detrimental to younger people too. It can sap the hope out of their heart.
Not everyone who lives on their own is lonely of course, but due to various circumstances when people are in a situation where they have no option but to be on their own, it can be very difficult for them.
Loneliness is a secret rarely shared.
If you know someone who might come under that category, giving them a 5-minute phone call could really make their day. It is a reminder that they are not completely on their own, and that someone cares about them.
Kindness comes back to those that are kind.
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There’s a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
For your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
