When I was a young boy, I saw a film clip on the television about the Nazi persecution of Jews. Viennese Jews were being publicly humiliated by being made to scrub the street with an audience of jeering people, which included children laughing at them. It was the gleeful participation of the children, that I found the most disturbing.

I never thought I would see such shameful behaviour again, but all these years later as settler violence increases in the West Bank, there is a growing TikTok trend of kidnapping, beating & humiliating Palestinians to the tunes of “Manny Mamtara”! The area has been described by human rights groups as a “Wild West”.
